A Star Is Born: Hearcomesthestar Shines at Caulfield as John Becomes a Grandfather!

Hearcomesthestar saluted in dazzling style at Caulfield on Saturday, capping a magical couple of days for the Moloney family with the arrival of Isabel Rose to new parents, Gabby and Jake, on Friday.

Ridden by Beau Mertens, the four-year-old Zoustar mare had a lovely run fourth in the six-horse field, tracking into the race from the 600 metre mark and hitting the line nicely down the outside to score in fine fashion in the 1100 metre Fillies & Mares Benchmark 78 Handicap.

Continuing her great first-up record after an 11 week let-up, Hearcomesthestar continues to furnish into a nice horse with maturity and looks set for a promising preparation. Hopefully she can continue her winning form as she steps out over further distance, and with a bit of luck, some wet tracks present themselves.
